Multi-Purpose Gym Audio
|
This project featured an upgrade for the audio reinforcement for a local middle school.
The system is a dual purpose one, providing a large reinforcement system for the gym area (which doubles as an auditorium) and a smaller reinforcement system for the stage area which doubles as a cafateria. To reduce costs, both systems use the same mobile rack and mixer, as both spaces are never in use at the same time. Dual 15" cabinet speakers were replaced with TOA HX-5B variable dispersion speakers and TOA FB-120b subwoofers to allow for better speaker focus and to improve clarity in the vocal range, which is the primary use for the audio system. The speakers are driven by Crown XTI series amplifiers and configured with clip protection to extend speaker life in an unpredictable educational environment. The existing analog sound board was replaced with a new Behringer X32 digital console that provides a wide variety of processing and control options in the same price range as a replacement analog board. |
